Lows

So not sure if anybody read my post about me being a type 1 diabetic, but if you didn't then here ya go. I've had it for over two years and I've never really had many low blood sugars; Instead, I've struggled with highs. This is good I guess, because there are not really any effects of highs (they just can just have really bad long-term effects on your body), whereas with lows, you get dizzy and could pass out. I've finally gotten my blood sugars controlled and they usually stay within the normal range (80-120). Well yesterday morning I left for class without eating breakfast (which I've been doing a lot lately - oops) and right after class started I got really hot (which I thought was normal since that classroom is usually a sauna). Well a few minutes later I started to feel like I was having a hot flash, and then I felt kind of dizzy and shaky. Then, I had a feeling that I was having a low blood sugar (which I had never really experienced before), so I grabbed my glucose meter and went to the bathroom to check it. It was 40... checked it again because I thought it was broken and it was 45. At this point I was sweating profusely and was light-headed, so I went back to room and ate my lunch, which helped thank goodness. I checked it again after eating and it was back up to 90. So yeah, I had a great start to the day yesterday, but it's all good. I guess I'll be making time to eat breakfast before class from now on!
