Misophonia
I thought I would talk about this since a girl sitting behind me in my class this morning (like inches away from me) decided to eat every single ice cube in her cup. I kind of figured this would bother anybody since it's a very loud crunching noise in a quiet classroom... but nope. This only seemed to be bothering me. I've always been extremely annoyed at any kind of crunching noise, when people smack their food/gum, and just any kind of noise like that. I could always tell my close family and friends to stop smacking their gum or to stop crunching their popcorn so loudly, but you can't really tell someone that you don't really know that well to stop making a noise. My family always made fun of me because of how much it annoyed me and thought that I was crazy. A few years ago I found out that this is an actual thing... called Misophonia aka fear of sounds. So I was really excited to tell my parents that I wasn't the only one that had this problem!

2 MORE WEEKS
We are so so close to being done with this semester and it kind of freaks me out! I would definitely be way more excited about graduating next year if we weren't all going to be freaking out all next year about grad school. Sometimes I think that taking a year off wouldn't be the worst thing... but I always convince myself otherwise. Anyways, I seriously cannot wait until these next two weeks are over so I can just be home and not have to worry about classes at least for a few months! I'm also supposed to be going to a beach near the Outer Banks with a bunch of my high school friends a few weeks after we get out, so I'm sure that'll be a great way to kick off summer break! And then my whole family goes late in July to Folly Beach, SC, which is the coolest little town you've ever seen. AH come on summer (and warm weather)!!

Another Netflix addiction
So I totally blame this one on Bobe... I started a new show on Netflix this past weekend. She was talking about the Vampire Diaries on Friday and she thought I would like it, so of course I got bored Friday afternoon and thought why not watch the first episode?! Bad idea! I watched WAY too many episodes yesterday/today and I should have been doing about a million other things. Oh well! I used to be a tad obsessed with Twilight when that was a thing (no shame) and I started watching Supernatural last year, so this whole vampire thing is right up my alley. I assumed it would be kind of dumb and like your typical vampire/werewolf thing, but there's actually a really great story behind it. Anyways, I'll just have to promise myself that I won't watch anymore until after finals (at least that's what I keep telling myself)!

Summer Job
So last summer I started working at a frozen yogurt place in my hometown called Fuzzy Peach. I was really excited about it just because it sounded like the perfect summer job and it was fairly new. The first week or so working went pretty smoothly. I was just learning how everything worked and the owner was letting me work all of the different shifts to see what all I would be doing. A few weeks after I started, our manager, who was in charge of making the schedules, quit and the owner did not think it was necessary to hire a new one. Oh and I forgot to mention that I was the oldest person working there after our manager left (all high-schoolers - yay). The owner just did not know how to schedule everyone to work and he always managed to get something mixed up. He would always send out the week's schedule the day before we were supposed to work, so I could never make plans until the day of. Anyways, it was a mess, but I still enjoyed working there just because it was a really cool place. I think I am working there again this summer so let's hope he's got everything figured out by now! Oh and I just found out he now owns Pelican's SnoBalls in Shelby so maybe he would want me to work there some too!

I heart monkeys
So I went home this past weekend so I was able to spend some time with my family, which was great! I did absolutely nothing on Friday except watch Netflix (currently re-watching Grey's Anatomy from the beginning) and I'm not even ashamed. So ever since I started seeing the previews for Disney's nature movie called Monkey Kingdom, I was dying to see it. I have a weird obsession with monkeys... I don't know why. The only person I could convince to actually go with me and pay money to see it was my cousin but I was just grateful I didn't have to awkwardly go alone! Oh and of course it wasn't playing in the theater closest to my house, so we had to go to Gastonia (like 45 min away), which turned out better anyways. We ended up going to Buffalo Wild Wings before and then Krispy Kreme afterwards (no shame). Needless to say it was a perfect night (well for me anyways)! The movie was adorable and I recommend everyone go see it!! And plus part of the money made from tickets purchased during the first week goes towards protecting monkeys and other endangered species in their natural habitat!

Lows
So not sure if anybody read my post about me being a type 1 diabetic, but if you didn't then here ya go. I've had it for over two years and I've never really had many low blood sugars; Instead, I've struggled with highs. This is good I guess, because there are not really any effects of highs (they just can just have really bad long-term effects on your body), whereas with lows, you get dizzy and could pass out. I've finally gotten my blood sugars controlled and they usually stay within the normal range (80-120). Well yesterday morning I left for class without eating breakfast (which I've been doing a lot lately - oops) and right after class started I got really hot (which I thought was normal since that classroom is usually a sauna). Well a few minutes later I started to feel like I was having a hot flash, and then I felt kind of dizzy and shaky. Then, I had a feeling that I was having a low blood sugar (which I had never really experienced before), so I grabbed my glucose meter and went to the bathroom to check it. It was 40... checked it again because I thought it was broken and it was 45. At this point I was sweating profusely and was light-headed, so I went back to room and ate my lunch, which helped thank goodness. I checked it again after eating and it was back up to 90. So yeah, I had a great start to the day yesterday, but it's all good. I guess I'll be making time to eat breakfast before class from now on!

I need sunshine
Because of the beautiful weather we've been having in Boone the past couple of weeks, I had been doing awesome working out. I went running at the greenway a few times a week and went to a few ab workouts. There's just something about running outside instead of running on a treadmill in the gym. The greenway is the perfect spot to go for a run, so I had gotten in a routine and a specific route I was running. But this week, the weather sucks! I now have absolutely no motivation to go run or work out in the gym! I need the nice weather to come back to Boone pronto!

Dreary Mondays
I don't know about you guys but this rain today is killing my motivation to get things done! I was loving the beach weather this past weekend so to come back to Boone and have this kind of weather is not the greatest. I had the hardest time getting out of bed this morning and going to campus just for one class. The only work I've done so far today is an online lecture and a quiz, which was a bit stressful (just because it was physics... and I hate it), and now I just want to nap and watch Netflix. BUT I really need to work on some homework assignments due this week, so I'll just keep telling myself that we're almost done! Only a few more weeks guys!

Dirty Myrtle
This past weekend has been so much fun, but now I just want to sleep for days. I went with one of my good friends from back home to his formal at Myrtle beach. It was definitely a last minute thing... his date found out she couldn't go last Saturday so I told him I would fill in. Another one of my friends from high school (and middle school) is in the same frat so I knew it would be a good time! We didn't think we were going to have nice weather on Saturday, but it ended up clearing up around 1 so we got to enjoy the beautiful day on the beach (and didn't even get a sunburn). After dinner, we had to walk a mile to the bar (but thank goodness everyone changed out of dresses and heels) where the dance and everything was. I'm not going to lie... Myrtle beach is a little sketchy late at night! But anyways, we had a great time and I only wish we could've stayed a few days longer!
